Welcome to my stories

Melo’nīne hallo’thas, readers.

I’m excited that you have found the world of The Runes of Power.

I have always loved books. Reading especially but I love books for what they are and the magic they possess and bring to you. As a child I enjoyed reading all the classics one thinks about, C.S. Lewis, Tolkien, Rowling, Lovecraft, and just about every other author and title you would recognize. There is so much wonder in a good book! A good story transports you into a place and time, pulls you into its world - a world that may be as similar as our own or as foreign as another universe - but it is a beautiful thing to lose oneself in a good story. The library in my home is brimming with the greats. But what began my love affair with fantasy was when I was given The Diamond Throne by David Eddings.

I discovered writing late in life, I was almost thirty before I began writing seriously. No one in my family were writers and so it never occurred to me that being an author was something I could do professionally. Since then, I’ve written a lot. Some of my work runs the gambit but I’m drawn to fantasy and gothic horror.

Writing is hard. In all honesty, I don’t think I would do it if it weren’t for the everlasting need to bring the stories I have to life. I would say “my stories,” and in a way they are, but they’re so much more than that. Most of the stories I’ve ever written or even thought about have been things that have been given to me, found objects that yearn to be told. These stories may begin with me, but without you they’re just words on paper. The whole point of writing them down is so they become your stories as much as mine.

Thank you for visiting my website and being interested in my writing. I’m sure you’ll come to love the world of The Runes of Power, and my other stories, as much as I do.

Welcome to a beautiful world.
