The Alari, a race born with the ability to wield magic runes, host the Great Games - a grand tournament held only once every 100 years. On their tree-island of Lorddrasil, the reclusive Alari invite the world's other realms to participate in the Games, while the island's ruling aristocracy convene for the Avaar Olo Tovalin, the kingdom's most important gathering of lords. With the Great Games and Tovalin coinciding for the first time in Lorddrasil's history, dark whispers haunt many in the kingdom, though their origins are a mystery. When a sudden, horrific murder sends the kingdom into upheaval, its leaders take drastic measures to restore peace.
